Mahoney is the Dean of Feb Club
David Lat manages to find a news peg to link to the Feb Club blog. We know he's been waiting. Paul Mahoney -- long rumored to be the heir apparent -- is the new dean. Judging by the comments, this decision is going to make as few waves as everyone hoped (Maybe we'll still be 10th). These things are highly choreographed and it looks like the whole thing went off without a hitch.
It reminded us of an e-mail we got a while back:
hey will you do a post on the dean search so us stupid 1Ls will understand what the hell is going on? Everyone thinks Jeffries was a great guy, but what does the Dean actually do? How about some of that famous journalism you're known for?
In reverse order: Ha ha! We're not known for journalism. The dean goes to parties, conferences and talks to alums. Paul Mahoney is the clear favorite winner. You're welcome.
Also, we're very curious who the UVA tipster was who says of Mrs. Mahoney, "[She's] just prattling on about bailments."
